Random Thoughts

Computing, Physics, Life, Everything else
This is a personal site collecting random thoughts, pictures, links, and tidbits about a variety of subjects. Feel free to peek around, but don’t expect too much. Actually, I moved my blog because iWeb is not the best tool for this particular job.

Current Topic: a Theory of Incomplete Measurements
What if quantum mechanics was just a consequence of what we are willing to accept as “measurements” in a world where measurements predictions are probabilistic? Does general relativity need to incorporate the notion of “change of measurement” on top of “change of coordinates”? Doesn’t that make Laurent Nottale’s scale relativity necessary? What if what we are used to call “space” and “time” were various properties of light?
These far-fetched ideas are discussed in this paper, but read the overview first.

Magic number: 09 f9 11 02 9d 74 e3 5b d8 41 56 c5 63 56 88 c0
If you look it up on Google, you might discover that this number has a few practical uses. But what makes it interesting are the sociological implications.
